Celebrating a decade of effortless faxing.
Apple launched the App Store and like many developers around the world, we scrambled to create an app for anything conceivable and participate in the mobile revolution. Most of our apps failed miserably but boy did we learn a lot.
Fax.xyz works across all your devices, no matter where you are.
Then one day we were confronted with a frustrating situation – our bank requested that we send a particular document exclusively by fax and we did not have access to a fax machine. We quickly discovered that this was a surprisingly common problem and that a fax app did not yet exist.

Seizing the opportunity, we quickly developed a rough vision of how mobile faxing should be, and designed a user interface and the technical architecture. 6 weeks later we had an MVP and the world’s first fax app was born.
So without any real-world testing or marketing plan, we decided to simply launch Fax on the App Store as a “beta” and hopefully get some market feedback.
Shockingly, we got a lot more than anticipated because Fax rocketed to the 8th most downloaded app on the entire App Store!
Our servers crashed.
Apple featured Fax on the App Store, and then invited us to make some product tweaks and participate in one of their famous TV commercials. Sadly we never ended up making the cut.
